One of the first anime encountering humans in Europe and other parts of the world, Goldorak (UFO Robo Grendizer in Japanese) is a 74-episode anime produced by Toei Animation and diffused in Japan every Sunday at 08:00 PM between 1975 and 1977, based on Go Nagai's manga. It follows the author's prequels Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger.

In the anime, Actarus, prince of Euphor, is hiding on Earth, following the enslaving of his planet, by belligerent empire Vega. Assisted by a scientist and Goldorak, a Vega robot that he stole, he will fight against his ennemis who are pursuing him on Earth.
